Easter Dresses

Taking pictures of three wiggly kids has always been difficult, but we gave it our best shot this Sunday. Here are a few of the results.

Mrs Heather's Strawberry Farm

Saturday was our 2nd annual trip to pick strawberries at Mrs. Heather's Strawberry Farm. We picked loads of delicious berries, which later became yummy pie and jam. (I realize most of these pictures are of Ruth. That is because the other kids ran off to do their own thing every time I got out the camera.)

Afton Villa

Today we went to Afton Villa Gardens in St. Francisville.  The gardens are all that's left of a mid-19th century plantation; the home burned down in 1963.  Everything was beautiful and many of the flowers were in bloom.

It was also the annual Audobon Pilgrimage weekend, which meant that we were able to visit The Homestead, a living history village not far down the road from Afton Villa.  We enjoyed the delicious cornbread...

the soap making, spinning, blacksmith, and woodworking demonstrations...

and the fried cracklins, because, yum, Louisiana.

Springtime is a great time to be here!

Ruth's half birthday

Today was a day to celebrate:  Our adorable little Ruth is now 18 months old. We went shopping for a half-birthday present.

Then we played in puddles to try out her new swimsuit.

As you can see, she is such a delight! We love you, Ruthy!
