Tessie 2 mo

Tessie had her 2 month checkup today and is perfect. At 12lb 14oz, 22.5in long, she's in the 93rd percentile for weight. She has started smiling when we talk to her and has the cutest little chunk from her cheeks to her ankles. We all love her, but Ruth is crazy about her. She is known to shout out in quiet places (like sacrament meeting), "Tessie! Hi Tessie! Tessie, Tessie! I love her!" It's very cute.

We were so happy to have two sets of grandparents attend W. Elizabeth's baby blessing on November 1st. Daniel gave her a beautiful blessing. 

She was blessed

• With the name Wendy Elizabeth Carr (named after her loving mother 'Wendy' and Elizabeth Warren, an ancestor who crossed the Atlantic on the Mayflower who fled her home and country for a chance to worship God according to her conscience)
• To stand for truth and righteousness, and to sacrifice for the Lord
• To take the best from her parents and to be patient with their weaknesses
• With a sweet spirit of reconciliation
• With a desire to serve the Lord in the temple and missionary service, and to be sealed in marriage
• That her days will be lengthened out that she may fulfill her missions upon the earth

Halloween 2015

Trunk or treat this weekend meant the first round of candy this season.  Here are the costumes.

Each year we have a fun time coming up with a creative Trunk-or-Treat activity for the kids to do at our car. Our first year we built a cardboard tunnel in the bed of the truck, our second year we filled a very large wooden box with shredded paper and candy and had the kids jump in to find their treat. This year we decided to go all out with a camping theme- complete with truck, tent, hammock, fire, marshmallows and guitar sing along. I don't know about the kids, but the adults loved it so much that we stayed late into the night, long after the official activity had ended.

Tessie 1 mo

We sure have loved the last month with this little angel. As Ruth always says, "She's so adorable. I love her!" We are all so in love.

W. Elizabeth Carr

We are so happy to have our sweet little Wendy Elizabeth in our family. We call her "Elizabeth" or "Tessie." She was born on Sunday, September 20th at 1:52 am. 7 lbs 12 oz, 20.5 in long. She came in short order after contractions started, quite literally. Four hours of labor, I only had to push twice-- once for her head, once for her body. Her temperament has more than matched her delivery-- calm, quiet, easy. We are so in love!

Ruth update

This Saturday is Ruth's 2nd birthday. We love her so much! She constantly amazes us with her whit and charm. 

Today I gave her a little interview and learned that:

• Her favorite animal is a giraffe (though she also LOVES dogs and horses). 
• Her favorite color is pink.
• Her favorite book is Berenstain Bears.
• Her favorite show is a show about a dog.
• Her favorite number is one.
• Her favorite letter is A, B, C, D, E, and F.
• Her favorite food is cheese and tortillas.

Other fun facts to share are:

• Ruth loves to choose her own clothes and frequently changes them as the day progresses.
• She has a great sense of humor and loves to make us laugh.
• She is excited to be a big sister soon and has told me all the things she is (or is not) willing to share with the new baby.
• She is very generous with "Please" and "Thank you." We love how polite she is and helps us to be!
• She knows all of her nursery friends by name... all 12!
• She memorizes books and recites them to us, word for word. She is particularly good at memorizing books that rhyme. 
• She knows all the words to the primary songs we sing before bed and sings along with us. My favorites are "I Am a Child of God" and "Teach Me to Walk in the Light." She is so precious.

First day of school!

Lucy and Reuben started school today... Lucy 5th grade, Reuben 3rd. They just get cuter and cuter.

Reuben's Baptism

We were so happy to celebrate Reuben's Baptism this Saturday, August 1st. A big thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Thompson and Grammy and Grandpa Carr for coming all the way to Louisiana to help make it a special day.

Swimming with dolphins

We had a fabulous time visiting my parents in Florida last week. Daniel's son, Joseph, was able to join us for the first time. We had fun sharing with him some of our favorite Florida activities- Juniper, tubing the intracoastal with Troy (while he and Daniel were on the tube they came across a gathering of 15 manatee!), the beach, horseback riding, 4-wheeling, playing games with the Wilcoxes, Marineland, etc... Of course the highlight for Lucy (besides spending a week with Victoria) was swimming with dolphins. I will put up a few more pictures of our adventures later. Until then, here are the dolphins.

Color Run

Team "Cupcakes With Sprinkles" ran their first 5k this April. Daniel, Lucy and Reuben joined our friend Natalie Marsh for the 2015 Color Run in Baton Rouge while Ruth, mom, Brother Marsh and the Marsh kids cheered them on from the sidelines. They made great time... They didn't quit, they did their best.
