Thanksgiving
We love road trips. Last year we drove to Utah to spend Thanksgiving with family. Of course we had a wonderful time. Here are a few of our favorite pictures.
This is the Place monument in Salt Lake City.
Playing at the park with Aunt Wendee and Percy.
And finally, Arches National Park, Moab.

Thanksgiving Day with the Balazs, Babcock and Rigby families, plus games and dessert with Seth. Delicious dinner! (Can you spot Reuben swiping candy from the candy jar?)
Temple Square with Melodie, Aunt Wendee, Uncle Gabe and Percy.

Florida
Our summer trip to Florida was exactly the break we needed before the house search began in Baton Rouge.
My parents have 30 acres in Flagler on which they are going to build their dream house surrounded by wild horses and plump cattle. After 46 yrs of planning and dreaming, we are glad their dreams are coming true. Here is my dad with Gideon the donkey.
My mom taught Monte tricks. Here he is bowing for the camera. Such a ham.
The Wilcox troop took us to Juniper Springs and 4-wheeling through the forest. They sure know how to have a good time.
I love being from paradise.
Back to School
School starts early here. The kids are already in their second week. Here they are in their school uniforms--every school here has a uniform policy--on the first day of school.
Wendy has been doing a great job helping them get ready, making lunches, doing homework, and generally helping them settle into the routine of a new year, new school. They are both doing great.

Winter Wonderland
Last year Daniel and I spent Christmas in Minnesota on Lake 31 with two of my sisters, Chrissy and Sage, and their families. We had an amazing time.
This was Daniel's first trip to Loon Lodge. He loved it.
We played broom ball more than once. On this day the temperature was easily below zero. Aurelia and Chrissy's hair and eyelashes frosted over.
Daniel's beard and hat, too.
Chrissy was a great guide. We followed her around the lake in snow shoes. Every tree glittered with snow.
Chrissy and Daniel cross country skiing.
Thanks Chrissy and Randy for letting us visit. We had a wonderful time.
One of our favorite activities was sledding behind the tractor on the lake.
